Jesus called His disciples to be witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). While we are actively involved in spreading the Gospel to the most remote corners of the world, we also remain committed to reaching our Jerusalem–the city of Winston-Salem. Through our partnership with local ministries we become the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to our community.
We understand that looking for a local organization to get involved with can seem like an overwhelming task. To help make things easier for you, we've created the River Oaks Local Missions Field Guide. It contains general information, ways to help , and how to contact each of the ministries we partner with. You can also follow our ROCC Local Outreach Facebook Page to get information on needs and opportunities in the community.
If you would like to contact someone from River Oaks who is currently serving with one of these ministries, we've listed a River Oaks Point-of-Contact along with each ministry so that you can get first-hand information on the ministries that we partner with to help make a redemptive impact in our community. If you have any questions on these organizations or would just like some help navigating through this list, please send us a general inquiry using the form at the bottom of the page and someone from our team will be in touch with you very soon.
SERVING OUR SAVIOR: Serving our Savior (SOS) is a local organization comprised of volunteer retirees who meet each Tuesday to build ramps for those in the community who need it. If you are interested, retired, in relatively good health, have marginal construction knowledge, and can devote four hours weekly, please contact Bill Tutt.
